Power Poppy-Power & Spark January 2018 Challenge take 3!

Ok, Ok, here I go again! What can I say, the Page Maps got me so inspired this month! We can enter as many times as we want, and while I have free time, I'm going for it!

The Challenge and its simple rules can be found here! It's open until the end of the month, come play!
The Page Map I used for this one is the very bottom right one. The clear acrylic stamp and die are called Succulent Singles
(Can I admit I am not a succulent fan? They are starting to grow more on me....) The thing about this Hen and Chick type succulent is that my Grandma had them in her garden. -Just a few.- She has been gone for many years now, and I had gotten a few of them from her but I just let them grow somewhat rampant in my garden. I'd never really seen a "chick" because she always just kept the big hens!! And, have you ever seen one of these bloom!!! -Not a fantastic beauty to see, but interesting none the less. I always think of her and smile when I see them in the garden.

The colors in the photo are not quite real to life of the actual card. I am not sure what was going on with the camera and the lighting. IRL, the center of the succulent is a closer match to the outside; it's noticeable, but just a little. The main colors of the center are BG93, BG96. The outer edges are mainly YG95, YG99. There is shading on these, and that is done with the opposite color than the main leaf/petal color above to tie them together more. There is also some E31, R83, R56 on there too.

The pattern papers are scraps from an old The Angel Company paper pack- including the cute little tag! The blue-green background paper is die cut with Lawn Fawn scalloped border die and embossed with WeRMemory Keepers folder, woven. Other dies used are Memory Box stitched rectangles (burgundy), Spellbinders fleur de lis (mottled beige) and Impression Obsession string ribbon die (grey paper that is then threaded through the loops of the tag).
Thanks for checking out my post, and if you like the cards I make, you can see more on my Instagram page as it is easier for me to post there!

  1. Oh what funky papers to go with your succulent, which is great with the sketch. Nicely done all around.
